Cyberspace "Latino"

Oct 19, 2009

Senior U.S. military commanders have begun work on a military strategy for cyberspace. Went into operation in October a new area of the U.S. Air Force, commanded by a commander of cyberspace, with around 500 ciberguerreros, some of whom are graduates of the first generation in their own training center.

This is not the product of the overheated imagination of the Yankees, the 2007 saw the start of cyberwar, cyber attacks from Russia paralyzed banking, police and government offices of Estonia. Pentagon officials, in turn, accused the Chinese military Craker clerk's office of U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Britain's M15, the major multinational warned that China was investigating its cyber defense. Finally, he mentioned that during the last presidential campaign in the U.S., the Secret Service informed the teams of Obama and McCain, that pirates had entered their networks for clues on future policy strategies.

The world has changed, and developed a new reality. But have not heard if the Brazilians, Mexicans, Argentines, Chileans and Venezuelans, to mention some of the countries with more computing resources on our part of America, are doing something about it, what is undeniable is that if we join efforts , little can be done to protect our strategic centers of information and control, even against corporate raids or even interested individual crackers.

Apparently, as usual, we envision having the best weapons from past wars, we spend billions of dollars, euros or rubles in current weapons are useless if we do not have computer centers that support them and be able to shield our information, both civilian and military, against cyber attacks, potentially, not only neutralize our computer centers but its use could result against us.

It is necessary, that we behave like the "disunited states of America", we have in our youth (including those who have migrated to the USA and Europe), the potential of knowledge and skills to address the future in a world governed by the information management. Undoubtedly, however, that our ability to have technology resources and computer equipment is limited and would not be justified for a separate country, but if we combine our capacities, we still have the opportunity to enter with opportunity and success, we lost in the industrial age, this new post-industrial information and Cyberspace.

One must take into account, additionally, that youth is individualistic and computer gurus are highlighted in this, we must create a collective mysticism without losing the sense of individuality, stimulates our geeks to identify with the whole "Latino" * to the world, to be confident that their personal actions to join in community efforts.

We must demand that our governments take seriously the future, with technology and social psychology of the future, and vast to be late to the party.

Witnessing a change so drastic that the advantages that the "developed" countries may have, are relative and surmountable, all we have seen how India and China have successfully incorporated.

Together we have the population and areas of application, enough to potentially have the necessary human and material resources, it all depends on which our rulers, they open the understanding and unite the resources and political will necessary to confront the challenge of the future.
